The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools so that they can support those pupils identified as being at a disadvantage compared to their peers. The funds should be used to support those pupils in accessing the resources they need to play a full part in the life of the school as well as narrowing the nationally recognised attainment gap between this group and their peers.
The nationally set funding for Pupil Premium students for 2023/2024 is shown below
- Children eligible for Free School Meals in the past 6 years - £1035
- Looked after children and those adopted from care - £2530
- Service children - £335
We encourage parents to register their child for Free School Meals as the school will then receive additional funds to support this specific group of students. If you think your child may be eligible for Free School Meals, then please consult the following website for advice and complete the application form,
https://www.bexley.gov.uk/services/schools-and-education/free-school-meals
Once completed, please return the form to the Free School Meals team, whose address can be found at the bottom of the application form.
It is up to schools themselves to decide how to spend their Pupil Premium funds.
