What is end2end TV?
end2end TV (e2e) are an independent not-for-profit TV Production Company, that is crewed entirely by young people, based at Hurstmere School. Pupils work during curriculum time for two days a week, in the studio and control room on various innovative projects and accessible film making activities.
At Hurstmere, e2e have a multi camera TV studio which enables ‘live’ green screen mixing. Pupils also develop their skills out on location, using the e2e outside broadcast unit to regularly film school events and other projects. Young People learn by doing, getting hands on with professional broadcast equipment in a safe, inclusive environment, giving them transferable skills and knowledge that enables them to interpret media and what they encounter online in a much more meaningful way.
e2e also support GCSE Media Studies with the practical part of their course - helping them with projects such as the creation of fantasy films and manipulating images using the Studio/Photoshop.
I think it’s brilliant. We have learnt how to operate cameras and present in front of them too. It’s been an amazing experience as it has taught me skills I wouldn’t normally have learnt in school.
Pupil Feedback
Dedicated Arts Award Centre
Many of the pupils who work with us during curriculum time fulfil the requirements of the Arts Award Discover, and receive certificates validated by Trinity College, London, presented to them during prize giving celebrations at school. We are also currently working with pupils in Year 10-11 who are working towards a Silver Arts Award, (equivalent to a GCSE 9-4). More information about the five levels of the Arts Award Scheme can be found online.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Hurstmere also boasts an e2e Media Team of pupils, who have trained with them extensively so they are able to independently capture photos and video of school activities for staff, social media and newsletters etc.
Additionally, all pupils at the school have the chance to join e2e extra-curricular clubs during the school year.
I know lots of schools really pride themselves in having theatres in their schools, but I don't know another school that has got a multi camera TV Studio and Production Control Room. This is unique to Hurstmere School and offers unique opportunities and exciting possibilities for children and young people across the curriculum.

As a patron of end2end TV I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the work of these young professionals up close, in various ways... So it’s exciting to imagine what they could bring to the UK film & TV industry, in the very near future!
