  • Science Technician

    Hurstmere School

    Salary Bexley NJC 5.1 - 5.4 (FTE £27,030 - £27,438)

    Hurstmere School wish to appoint an enthusiastic Science Technician to provide technical support services to our Science department, including the preparation of materials, setting up of equipment for class practical sessions and maintaining equipment for use, to start with immediate effect.

    This is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent role, Term Time Only +1 week, paid based on the Bexley NJC point 5.1 - 5.4 (FTE £27,030 - £27,438 - actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis).

  • IT Apprentice (£1k Golden Hello)

    Hurstmere School

    Salary Apprentice Minimum Wage

    Hurstmere School wish to appoint an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to provide support services to our IT Department. The IT apprentice will assist with the provision of high-quality support and contribute effectively to the IT team, to start with immediate effect.

    You will provide a prompt, first level of IT support to staff, students and visitors to the school which will include supporting and maintaining IT hardware. You will work proactively from a helpdesk with guidance from IT colleagues. 

    The successful candidate will undertake on the job training alongside undertaking the Level 3 qualification. 

    This position is temporary in the first instance for the duration of the apprenticeship. 

    This is a full time (37 hours per week), fixed term role, paid based on the Apprentice Minimum Wage. The rate of pay will be reviewed annually in April in line with the nationally agreed salaries. 

    The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £1k. This is split into the following payments - £500 subject to the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, and a further £500 to be paid upon completion of the apprenticeship course.

  • Teacher of English (Maternity Cover)

    Hurstmere School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our English Department on a maternity cover basis. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Teacher of English, to start from January 2025.

  • Office Administration Apprentice

    Hurstmere School

    Salary Apprentice Minimum Wage

    Hurstmere School wish to appoint an enthusiastic Office Administrator Apprentice to provide support services to our Main Reception area, to start with immediate effect.

    This position is to support the administration function of the school. The successful applicant should have good customer service, an attention to detail and demonstrate that they can work well within a team, under the direction of the Office Manager.

    This is a full time (37 hours per week), fixed term role, Term Time Only + 1 week, paid based on the Apprentice National Minimum Wage. The rate of pay will be reviewed annually in April in line with the nationally agreed salaries. 

    The working pattern will consist of Monday-Friday, 7:30 - 15:30.

    The successful candidate will complete on the job training alongside undertaking an apprenticeship qualification. This is to be discussed further at interview level. 

    This position is temporary for the duration of the apprenticeship.

  • Exam Invigilator

    Hurstmere School

    Salary Bexley NJC 5.1

    Hurstmere School is seeking to appoint a reliable and effective Exams Invigilator to join our team of invigilators, who are required during exam periods and for days of tests throughout the academic year. The ideal candidate will be flexible, with excellent communication skills and a confident and reassuring presence to students sitting exams. Employment for this position is offered on an Ad-hoc basis.

    Please note that this position does not involve educating or teaching. The primary responsibility of a proctor is to ensure the integrity of the testing process by monitoring test takers and enforcing testing rules.

    This is a casual, zero hour contract position paid an hourly rate of £14.44, based on the Bexley Pay Range 5.1.
