History is a subject that educates students about past events but also equips them with vital skills for the modern world. Through history students can develop their critical thinking and problem solving abilities as well as gain a greater understanding of current event that shape the world in which we live.

KS3 Programs of Study

Within KS3, students study a broad range of aspects of History. These often link well with other subjects such as Geography, Religious Studies and English.

History GCSE

History is a very popular option at GCSE level at Hurstmere School. As a department we are very proud of our GCSE results where we have consistently achieved well above National Averages.
